Reckoned to be the highest lake in India, Cholamu Lake is situated at a dizzying height of 5330 m. This surreal lake is also a short distance away from the Indo-Tibet Border, and thus permits are required for visiting. Cholamu, being tucked away in the North Sikkim region, is lesser explored, and thus its beauty remains intact. Getting There The lake is situated some 80 kms from Lachen, which is the base for getting the taxi for this place.
